Jenni’s Bio
A textile artist living in Brighton, I am fascinated with how everyday objects such as clothes or books can reveal their hidden stories through their worn and aged surfaces jennicresswell.co.uk. These objects also allow me to tell my stories through them. I always have a large stack of library books by my bed to comfort and transport me.
Marianne says
Beautiful story. Your Anne is a treasure indeed, and I hope you find someone special to whom you can eventually pass it on.
Jenni says
That’s very kind Marianne, I hope so too!
Shelley says
I love these two films and their connections, between mother and daughter, and how they evoke the book as a material object with its own history.
Jenni says
It was very lovely to have the opportunity to attend with my Mum – and to have shared such a wonderfully loved and handled book.
Dulani says
I love everything about this film, Jenni – the way you weave the story, the loving focus on the physical book and the visual and story acknowledgement of its importance as a family object, all of it come together beautifully. I also love the way you look directly not only at the book but at the question of “Who next?” – there’s a sadness you don’t ignore but also don’t dwell on…who knew you could say so much in less than two minutes? Gorgeous.
