The project got underway with a team meeting at the University of Brighton on 21 April, where we discussed the background to the project and preparations for the upcoming workshops. It is a complete coincidence (or is it?) that the photo of the team below shows them engrossed in ‘reading on screen’! From left to right we have Tricia Jenkins and Outi Vellacott (from DigiTales), Ross Adamson, Isobel Creed and Bronwen Thomas. Our project photographer Ray Gibson took the pic.
The team have been busy spreading the word about the project via social media. At Bournemouth we’ve also been connecting with the local community via our wonderful libraries, who have been helping us to contact local book and reading groups. We’ve also had a lot of interest in the workshops from people who are interested in developing their digital literacy and skills. On 10 May Bronwen was a guest on the Livewire Live radio show on HopeFM in Bournemouth, and Bronwen and Rebecca have been busy creating posters and flyers for local bookshops, libraries and colleges to help spread the word.
We are very much looking forward to the first workshop which will be held at Bournemouth University at the end of this month (details may be found in the Events section).
